Self Service Environment

Self Service Environment

People nowadays are able to work in a self service environment, due to the internet. So, they can simply go online and go onto Tesco's webpage, so that they can order from home, without the need of going outside, which is an incredible invention for anti-social people! This invention makes life so much easier

  1. This is also a great business opportunity as lots of people do not have the time to shop because of full time work so they can have virtual baskets and just add there shopping over the day and choose a delivery time to suit them.

  2. Although this is a great way to purchase products it also causes a problems for businesses because they might start to make more money online, meaning they do not need the staff within the shop. As a result of this unemployment will increase which isnt good for the countries economy.

  3. I agree with Nathan's point expressing the unemployment issue relating to online shopping, there soon will be no need to go out to the shops at all when you can purchase goods with a simple click. This may be a worse case scenario however I feel that self service environments increase the risk of obesity in our country. This doesn't mean that online shopping is a bad idea because it is a forever changing technological advancement so adjustments may be made to make an even better shopping experience for all.

  4. I think that what Nathan, Eleanor and Adam have said are very valid points, and that they are all good contributions to my blog based around self service environments. What Adam said, about being able to shop online and fit it around a working day, is a very good, and helpful point to make, as it is true and people do use online shopping for that reason; it is more efficient and easy to do, than to visit shops and fit shopping in person around your daily life. Furthermore, Nathan made a point regarding making more money online, than in store, and I fully agree with this point, because businesses are becoming larger and bigger everyday due to online capabilities, so they don't need as much staff and people will lose jobs due to this. What Eleanor said, it is absolutely correct, however, shopping online may not make you obese, it depends what your lifestyle is outside, and what you do as a job. So, overall, I have learned about several more things regarding self service environments online.
